I have been a fan of this place for the last 8 years, since I used to live in Fullerton. I was there last week for a lunch date. I had the Matt Special, and as always it was awesome, I even ordered one to go because I do not know when i will be able to make it back up there. The chef Glen has always been so kind, even came out to say hi, and he and Kim are just the sweetest people ever. Makes me wish I lived in Fullerton again just to be able to eat there. Cute servers too, just don’t tell my date that. ;\

Greatest Stuffed French Toast
I loved the atmosphere and food! Great service! Owner is very friendly and helpful! The stuffed French toast is a must. It was created by accident by one of the owners of the cafe.
Eggs-ellent!
This is the best breakfast in Fullerton! The omelets are excellent. So are the breakfast potatoes. Haven’t tried everything on the menu, but the coffee is good and strong and the prices are very reasonable.
Amazing food
So my friend, her sister, and myself decided to have breakfast at the Brownstone Cafe today, and boy was the food amazing! They had both told me that the food was really good and so I was excited going into it. First off, the ambiance is very nice. Kind of had a Spanish Mediterranean vibe with beautiful patio seating. There is a courtyard with a fountain and lots of lush plants and trees. We sat indoors because it was a bit chilly, but the interior decor was very cute. Our server was extremely nice and frequently checked up on us and would immediately refill my coffee cup once it got half way. GREAT SERVICE if you ask me! I got the pesto sausage omelette with a side of wheat toast and potatoes. It was very simple, tasty, and fulfilling. It wasn’t greasy at all. They put some cheese on my omelette, but just the right amount. I hate it when my food is drenched with cheese because it makes me feel kinda queasy. Overall great place to grab breakfast and can’t wait to tell all my friends about this joint! Mmmm………
Can’t wait to go back
I’ve been hearing about this place for months from my hard-to-please mother, so I figured I had to try it.
I loved the ambiance. Indoor seating is cozy with lots of smaller tables and one or two bigger ones. Outdoor seating in a lush garden courtyard with a beautiful fountain.
Our server was a total sweetheart and even let us order from the breakfast menu after breakfast hours had just finished.
We all loved our meals, I had the Mediterranean omlette which was fluffy and moist at the same time…which is hard to achieve in my omlette-making experience. A couple of the guys had the sausage pesto omlette which they raved about. And a couple others ordered the strawberry French toast which looked amazing.
Coffee served was delicious, I’m pretty sure it was Gavina.
Can’t wait to go back!
Coming here for years
i’ve been coming here for years and love everything about this place. great food, service, atmosphere, everything! the owners are always a joy and very nice.
i usually get the matt’s special for lunch and french toast for breakfast. everything is decently good.
The omletes and french toast, oh my!
I have come to this adorable little cafe on many occasions in the last few months for breakfast and lunch. The food was really good! For breakfast, my favorites so far are the Mediterranean Omelet and the Bananas Foster Stuffed French Toast! The omelet was so tasty with its delish blend of olives, artichokes, and spinach all topped with crumbled feta! Makes your mouth water doesn’t it? If that didn’t then the Bananas Foster will! Its stuffed with ricotta cheese that is light and airy making the french toast seem like dessert and not breakfast. For lunch, I love me some tomato soup. Seriously, it puts other tomato soups to shame. The chicken and rice soup here is really good too! And they are really good with a sandwich, which there is a huge selection to choose from!
So this place is awesome. The atmosphere is quiet and tucked away making you feel like you stumbled upon Fullerton’s best kept secret! I heard that they do catering for parties and weddings so I am definitely keeping this sweet place in mind for that. I bet their food for that would be splendid!

Love this place
Love this place! Great service. Great food. Wonderful atmosphere!
Unwind and enjoy
This is a fabulous little cafe! The breakfast is divine and the staff is always friendly and attentive. It’s located in a lovely little courtyard that encourages people to unwind and enjoy their morning/afternoon. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great meal and a moment to relax!
My go-to caterer
I have been to this place many times and the food is great!! Love the breakfast potatoes, they are delish!! They are also my go to caterer for all my events!! They have outstanding pricing. Check ‘em out!
“Must Visit”
I have come here three times in the past week for coffee. It, as well as the service, has been excellent! Great prices too! It has a neat, rustic atmosphere with great artwork upon every wall. Definitely a “must visit” place in downtown Fullerton!
Drop by here!
The prices are really reasonable and the service is actually pretty quick. If you’re looking for a quite great place to have lunch, drop by here.
Great Place to catch up with friends
I tried this place for breakfast because a friend recommended it to me. It was
great! It’s a little hidden, but the location is perfect! On a Saturday morning
it wasn’t that crowded so I was actually able to enjoy a nice conversation. The
food was delicious too! I had a breakfast croissant with some fresh fruit on
the side. I’d definitely recommend trying it out and I’ll be stopping by the
next time I’m in Fullerton.
A lot of food for small price
The Brownstone Cafe is one of those hidden little secrets that Downtown Fullerton has to offer. I stumbled upon this place while walking around one day with a friend. We walked into the Villa del Sol, the place where the Cafe is located and saw a bunch of tables in the courtyard. We passed a few tables where people were already sitting and eating lunch. Just by looking at the food, my friend and I knew immediately that we wanted to eat there.
Luckily, the cafe wasn’t too busy (it was around 1 pm) and we got seated right away. I ordered the Roasted Beef Panini and a cup of their Tomato Basil Bisque Soup (the waiter said it was one of their more popular items and I do love tomato soup so I tried it). The panini was DELICIOUS, but it didn’t compare to the soup. The Tomato Basil Bisque soup ruined all other tomato soups I’ve ever had. It was creamy, flavorful and literally the best soup I’ve ever tasted. My friend had the Brownstone Cobb which also looked delectable. It was quite a lot of salad for the price she paid for it.
In all, the experience at Brownstone Cafe was very good; the people were really nice and the food fantastic.
Made me feel at home
I had brunch here with a girlfriend on a Wed morning.
Brownstone Cafe is in the heart of Downtown Fullerton (hence, parking can suck at times). I’ve been here for lunch before, but brunch time was very quiet and serene here (due to the lack of people). The indoor seating made it feel like we were in the comforts of our own home (without having to cook/clean)! It’s a cute place for brunch!
I had the “build my own omelet” for $11, where you can pick up to 4 items. I chose cheddar, ham, bacon & mushroom! It came with a side of potatoes and toast!
I love omelets, and this was super yummy! Although the atmosphere feels like home, the cooking doesn’t feel too homemade. The one downside – the toast was stale. Other then that, service was good – the waitress gave us just enough attention, while giving us enough space to chat up a storm for a couple hrs! =)
Perfect breakfast spot
Had breakfast this morning at the brownstone cafe for the first time and it was just fantastic.
Its a Little hidden but when you find it you have definitely found yourself a delicious little place for breakfast I enjoyed the pesto sausage omelet with potatoes and orange juice which was recommended to me buy our outstanding server Scott who not only set me up with a delicious breakfast plate, but was very attentive and personable and made the overall experience such a good one. i will definitely be returning
Friendly staff and amazing food
I love this place. I usually go here for lunch about once or twice a month with a friend. We almost always sit outside to enjoy the sun and the beautiful area. I have been here for breakfast once and I had an omelet with sundried tomatoes and artichoke hearts. But for lunch, I almost always get the tomato soup. I switch it up between the 3 grilled Cheese or the Matt’s sandwich(I may have the dudes name wrong) I love their tomato soup.
The staff is always really friendly and I definitely recommend this place.
Great food, location for parties
“Great food and wonderful outdoor patio. This is a must try for those looking for something new. BTW they are amazing at hosting parties in the California Hotel courtyard!”
Great spot for business meetings
I had a business breakfast meeting here and it was great! Nice, nice decor and ambience. A long table
where we could all sit. Quiet enough to have a discussion without disturbing other diners. Good food and
service. Good value.
I have to also mention that I did not make any kind of pre-arrangement with the restaurant and they were
very accomodating at the spur of the moment. Our meeting group was small with only 5 attendees, but they
went out of their way to make things works for us.
It’s also located in an older, but re-done area of downtown Fullerton. So the area itself had a good amount
of character. Not your generic stip center.
I will definitely utilize this spot again!
The Best Stuffed French Toast
“Go for breakfast and order the original cinnamon stuffed french toast. It’s quite possibly the best breakfast item I’ve ever eaten.”
The best Tomato Basil Bisque that I’ve ever tasted
I love the Brownstone Cafe. They have the best Tomato Basil Bisque that I’ve ever tasted. Their menu has a decent variety of soups, salads and sandwiches. The outdoor seating leads you to a charming courtyard with a small water feature in the center. A perfect way to spent a couple of hours.
I’ve been there when the service is quick and when it’s slow. Really, the ambiance is so laid back that feeling rushed does not add to the experience.
They also have take-out, which I will use when I don’t have the time to relax in the courtyard and they are pretty expedient about completing take-out orders.
Tomato basil soup and the Turkey Panini, absolutely delicious
The stuffed french toast = amazingness. The flavors that this breakfast marvel holds are bliss. One of my favorite breakfast meals of all time. And now for one of my favorite lunch meals: Tomato basil soup and a Turkey Panini. First of all the soup absolutely delicious, a must try. A tasty as the soup is, I am a meal kind of guy and their Turkey Panini is scrumptious. Now combine the two by dipping the Panini into the soup and you get pure deliciousness. Sooooooo good!! When I am not sure what to eat and tired of the rest I always stop by The Brownstone. It always hits the spot for me.
Thank You Brownstone, Our Big Event Was a Big Success
Of course they have wonderful food, cheerful staff, but their knowledge about putting on a great event made us a success. It was the most successful fundraiser ever, and we have The Brownstone to thank for that.
